Gerhard Merz: Le chef-d'oeuvre inconnu
Fiction by Gertrude Stein. Since the late 60s, Gerhard Merz has been developing a concept of painting that is strongly influenced by Formalism and architectural Modernism--a concept he refers to as "archi-painting." In this most recent exhibition catalogue, Merz employs the notion of emptiness to evolve into experiential reflection, as his allusive paintings and architecture are augmented by fragments of text.

Zaha Hadid: Thirty years of architecture
A fully illustrated catalogue of the exhibition has been produced. Color illustrations of designs and models, previously unpublished paintings, and photographs of buildings at all stages of construction will accompany essays by leading authorities on Hadid’s work. Contributions by authors Joseph Giovannini, Detlef Mertins, Germano Celant, and Patrik Schumacher will complement two unpublished interviews between Zaha Hadid and Alvin Boyarsky.

Magdalena Abakanowicz:
Dancing figures
This exhibition concentrates on recent sculptures in iron and bronze including a group of seven dancing figures; two female backs, a seated boy, and two figures which strike one as being quite different. Both Kacper and Silent Figure wear a head covering which terminates in a square collar covering the shoulders. Features of the face are clearly discernible in both, suggesting that perhaps this is a step towards the depiction of a full countenance. The two figures with collars have vestigial faces, the Dancers have hands.
